Past Events
Offaly Domestic Violence Support Services organise a range of events throughout the year, raising awareness of the service and fundraising for the running of the service.
ODVSS depend on the generosity of the public to support all our fundraisers and are very grateful for all the support given to the organization whether it be running fundraisers, assisting with events, collecting donations, giving out information, walking, running, swimming, sky diving or any other activity to help with our events.
Ladies Afternoon of Gin & Chic 2019
Back by popular demand following the success of last years event, this year's Gin & Chic Ladies Day took place in association with Park Avenue 23 at the The Townhouse, Tullamore on October 20th from 2.30 to 4.30 p.m. An afternoon of Gin, Fashion, Beauty, Hair and Make Up is on the cards. Gift Bags were given out to the first 50 ladies in the door, Best Dressed Lady Prize, and there was a chance to win a Make Over for one special lady. There was a great turnout on the day and the event was another roaring success.
Church Gate Collections 2019
This year we expanded our church gate collections to include eight new locations across the county. They were Kilcormac, Mountbolus, Rhode, Croghan, Edenderry, Banagher, Lusmagh, Mucklagh. The people of Tullamore have always been very supportive of our collection and our work and the people in our new areas were also very supportive. The staff at ODVSS would like to thank the people who gave money and also thank Board Members and volunteers who helped with the organising and collecting of funds for this annual event throughout the summer. Total Church Gate Funds Raised came to €4030.27
50K Challenge for ODVSS
This year ODVSS invited people to take part in the 50K challenge during the month of July. Participants were asked to walk, run or swim 50 Kilometres in 31 days. This was a motivation to all to get fit and healthy by covering an average of 1.7kilomoters per day in July. Sponsorship came to €345.00 plus vouchers from Eddie Rockets which we can use in future events, and we would like to thank you all for your support.
VHI Women's Mini Marathon 2019
The VHI Dublin Women's Mini Marathon took place on Sunday June 3rd, 2019. The Mini Marathon invites all women to take part. The mini marathon is a great 10km event for women to walk, jog or run together and achieve their own personal goals while raising much needed funds for hundreds of charities across the country. Over 25,000 ladies (and men in drag) took part this year and our participants for ODVSS brought in €760.00 Thank you all those who took part and chose ODVSS as their charity.
UNITea Against Domestic Violence 2019
Our annual County Tea Morning runs throughout the month of May. We held successful Tea Mornings this year in Supervalu Banagher, Supervalue Birr and The Bridge Centre Tullamore, raising awareness and providing much needed information about the services provided by Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service, including Outreach Clinics and Court Accompaniment. Funds raised came to €297.40. Thank you to both Supervalu Birr, Banagher and The Bridge Centre for accommodating us.
