ODVSS runs various events and campaigns throughout the year to continue to raise vital funds to provide essential services for victims of domestic violence and abuse.
ODVSS depend on the generosity of the public to support all our fundraisers and are very grateful for all the support given to the organization whether it be running fundraisers, assisting with events, collecting donations, giving out information, walking, running, swimming, sky diving or any other activity to help with our events.
Information and Intercultural Coffee Morning
On the 14th of February 2020 we held an Information and Intercultural Coffee Morning at our premises in Tullamore. The coffee morning was a great success and was attended by people from many different parts of the world from South Africa to India. It was great to meet so many different nations and talk about how life differs around the world. Our Ethnic Minority Development Worker made cakes from different cultures and hosted the event.
Church Gate Collections 2020
This year we are again expanding our church gate collections to include more locations across the county. They will be Kilcormac, Mountbolus, Rhode, Croghan, Edenderry, Banagher, Lusmagh, Mucklagh and Birr. The staff at ODVSS would like to thank the people of Offaly who always support our church gate collections and also thank Board Members and volunteers who help with the organising and collecting of funds for this annual event throughout the summer. The collections will take place in June, July and August, keep an eye in the local parish bulletins for when we will be in your area.
VHI Women's Mini Marathon 2020
We are hoping to take part in this event again this year. Keep an eye on our Facebook page and Twitter for an opportunity to help raise money for ODVSS by taking part.
UNITea Against Domestic Violence 2020
Our annual County Tea Morning runs throughout the month of May. We have previously held successful Tea Mornings last year in Supervalu Banagher, Supervalu Birr and The Bridge Centre Tullamore, raising awareness and providing much needed information about the services provided by Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service, including Outreach Clinics and Court Accompaniment. We hope to again hold UNITea mornings in these locations and more in May of this year. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for more information.
